One of the most important pieces of equipment in a vehicle is your rear-view mirror.
When you’re driving, your rear-view mirror allows you to glance at what’s behind you in order for you to know what, if any, adjustments need to be made in real-time while you are driving. It’s primary purpose is to make you a better, safer driver.
If you stare into your rear-view mirror while driving, you will likely have a collision or drive off the road. Why? Because your rear-view mirror is not made for staring into while driving. Your rear-view mirror was made for quick glances to give you a better understanding of your driving environment so that you can drive forward…safer and better.
Hindsight is like your rear-view mirror.
It gives you a tool by which to take quick glances back to see things you couldn’t see.
It helps you to see things from a different perspective.
The rear-view mirror of hindsight is not meant to be stared into with guilt, longing, or regret. It is meant to present you with lessons that you can use to become the best possible human you can be.
